Asking what is important

There are many different approaches to identify what is important.
After systematizing the methods for prioritizing performance areas, product features or improvement initiatives into three groups of methods, we present in this article the 2step-SWIPE method. This is a pragmatic solution for the differentiated and efficient measurement of direct preference queries. 2step-SWIPE occupies an intermediate position between the methodologically inadequate direct relevance measurement by ratings or rankings and the more elaborate MaxDiff method, which, however, has survey-economic and survey-ecological disadvantages. As a pragmatic, intuitive solution for long surveys in which relevance measurement is only one task among others, 2step-SWIPE can be the method of choice.
